I have compiled a Pinterest board here of the Renovation ideas that are floating in my head at the moment. So many decisions need to be made. Below is a selection of my favourites;

Academy Tiles Kitchen Splash back

Kitchen Splash Back:

Love to use these tiles as our kitchen splash back. I also want to go with a timber benchtop & timber shelving ( or a laminate that looks like timber for savings) to the walk in pantry. One of my friends on instagram informed me I can get these tiles from Myaree Ceramics in Perth -so excited.

Kitchen Finishes:

This is kinda the look I’m going for the kitchen. Timber bench tops with white cabinets, I also want to do a waterfall edge (as pictured- see how the timber bench top continues to side of cabinets). These stools are cute too, something natural looking,oh and some plants. I’m also on the hunt for 3 pendant lights over the bench top.

Concealed Pelmet

Master Bedroom:

Deciding if we can create a recess to the master bedroom (depending on the budget) for a concealed pelmet as in this picture. We also need Shutters as this window faces west.  The sheer curtain in front  to be in the recess, I love how it looks so peaceful & diffuses the natural light.- Bliss.

Our Upcycled Dining Table:

We had a Marri high gloss dining table, but I felt like I wanted to add more natural & raw finishes. So Mr A has sanded down the table top and made chunky trestle legs like these. (blog post on the transformation to come, once it’s complete).

Walk in Robe Inspiration:

I’ve managed to move walls around (much to Mr carpenter’s detest) to fit a walk in robe. I want to use simple white cabinets from ikea like these ones. With a hanging rail & melamine shelves. Very clean, white & simplified.

Bay Windows in Lounge:

When we first looked at the property our plan was to get rid of the bay windows. But then I decided, no lets make them a feature.  Bay windows are not a typical window here in Western Australia (not sure why,- maybe our brickies don’t like straight lines). But when I lived in London -every house had them and I kinda fell in love with them. I really want to put shutters on them, as these windows face west this will give me the option to close off in the afternoon.

Concept for the TV Recess:

I like the idea of built in cabinetry for the TV unit, the picture above is more inspiration around the finishes I want use, like the timber panel look. I’m still deciding if pine timber panelling (white washed) would be a cheaper option than a wallpaper that has the look of panelling. I’m still coming up with a concept, but the main idea is having a wall hung TV with wall hung white cabinets like these Besta units from Ikea & some shelving above.

Coastal Kitchen Look:

I love this white kitchen and how it uses texture to show off. The texture from the raw timber stools & the light fittings really work well together. I also love the weatherboard look cabinet panels, to bring that coastal influence.

These are my concept ideas floating in my head, with probably more to come. Now it will be whether I can incorporate them all, or just select the ones going to have the most impact.
