I’ve put together a mood board of our kitchen renovation. I’m Going for a Natural look with whites and blacks. We are taking a risk with the timber benchtop, I’m not sure how this will hold up over time, but I really wanted a ‘waterfall edge’ instead of a straight edge – you really can only achieve with stone. But since we don’t have that much in the budget were using timber. We sourced some piece’s from Bunnings and Adam is going to glue pieces together. I really love the natural as is colour tone of the timber, but because it’s a work area we have to clear coat it, I just hope the finish doesn’t turn too yellow
Because were doing a budget conscious kitchen renovation here, we went with ikea. Ikea isn’t for the faint hearted, luckily Adam has heaps of experience with ikea and did lots of kitchens when we lived in the UK. I purposely designed the kitchen with a ‘galley style’ in mind, this saves wastage space with corner cabinets. Plus I added a scullery with 2 more cabinets and shelving above for pantry goodies.

Splash back Tiles:
The tiles are in a geometric pattern, which most probably be a nightmare to lay – lucky for us we have a ’tilling’ buddy – (thanks Alby). Were going with a black grout to work in well with the gorgeous black tap and the feature windows to the kitchen are going to be black frames.
We picked up this gorgeous black tap from Bunnings! I know right?! bargain at $224 (3) Mondella Vivance plus its a 5 star WELS rated – bonus saving on you’re water bill.
We managed to pick up a package deal for the Euromaid Oven, Electric hotplate & recessed rangehood from Harvey Norman.
